Mooring Leaders’ Mooring (MLM)

While it’s important for leaders to have opportunities to share with one another and be equipped, we don’t take your time for granted! Often, just the prayer and preparation each week is enough of a time commitment. That’s why we meet formally only three times a year: August (to reflect and re-launch for a new year), January (to discuss how things are going), and May (to reconnect before breaking for the summer). Leaders and Co-leaders are encouraged to pause your weekly Mooring meeting on these weeks. Let your whole Mooring support and celebrate your investment in your leadership growth!

These three annual gatherings will focus on revisiting our vision, praying for one another, sharing insights from group experiences, encouraging one another, and brainstorming practical ideas on how to deepen connections in your Moorings. MLMs are an investment in your leadership and an opportunity to solidify the partnership between fellow leaders and pastors.

Self-Care Practices

“Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.” - Anne Lamott

Chris shares how important it is for leaders to lead from their own transformation. He makes the bold claim that your group will not achieve health and vitality until you do! He explains how the peace of Christ can rule in our hearts through prayer, and challenges leaders to see self-care not as a pressure to deal with, but as a possibility to embrace.

Mooring Leader’s Self-Assessment

The self-assessment is designed to be an honest reflection on your leadership and the health of your group. Refer to this self-assessment throughout the Mooring season. Hopefully, it will assist you in highlighting areas to celebrate and areas in need of growth for you and your group. Research suggests that leaders who looked for opportunities to improve their leadership often lead groups that thrive. So go ahead and identify those areas where you need support! Take the assessment here.
